Daily Digest – October 11. Westlake Reaches Settlement Over SCRA Violations; ALS Resolvion Moves Into Larger Office Space


  • Westlake Financial Services has reached a settlement with the Department of Justice after it was accused of illegally repossessing 70 vehicles from active duty service members without first obtaining the proper court orders. Westlake will repay each of those individuals $10,000 plus any lost equity in the vehicle with interest. Westlake is the third lender in the last year to be ensnared in a SCRA case with the Justice Dept.



  • ALS Resolvion has moved into a larger office space in Charlotte, N.C. The move allows the company to increase its capacity by 50%. The new office space will accommodate the company for the next decade, president Jose Mendiola said.
